After a long an fairly uneventful stroll around our local nature reserve.
We started to drive out of the car park, when this little chap flew down and sat on the fence at the exit
Perfect oportunity !      |

Have seen up to a dozen at a time on the flood plains when out walking.Mostly airborne and singing away...

There were a good few at our reserve today Ellen
Most of them were airborne and singing lovely
But this was the only one i could get anywhere near. |

Beautiful shots.
We saw around ten yesterday. I have some just acceptable shots of one in flight singing that I will add to a separate post later.
What with yesterday hearing and seeing skylarks, along with snapping a peacock butterfly, made it seem as though Spring might be on the way - despite the continuing gray skies.

I only ever see them when I'm out riding and they are usually an ever-rising, singing black dot in the sky.

Excellent photos. Like Astra, all I normally see is a black dot in the sky! However, I have heard them on two walks this week, but failed to see them. |
