Yestreday, at about noon, I was driving along a country road and there was a Barn Owl on a fence post top, right by the road. What a beautiful sight! No chance of doing anything else than drive on and feel very pleased.
Today, I drove on the back roads towards Scarborough, daughter just come for the weekend in the car, and I told here about this. We were about 25 miles away form the previous sighting. As I was talking, another barn owl appeared from a field and quartered the grass verge and then flew alongside the car, even better view than yesterday, again I could not stop and it would have achieved nothing, but a fabulous action view.
Tomorrow I shall go walking down the road with a basket in my hand, in the near certain expectation that another owl will lay a clutch of eggs in it and then proceed to brood them.
