Hello people! We are planning to visit Gigrin Farm on Sunday...any tips/words of advice to help get the best out of the day?

Thanks eeyore..sadly, my photograhic attempts will be restricted to my little point-and-press kodak z740...looking mainly for best vantage points, whether there are any other worthwhile places to check out while on site and such like. All titbits welcome!

If you are having a full day out then arrive early and have a drive round the Elan Valley first before going to the farm - you may see kites out over the moors esp if its getting close to midday as they start flying in towards Gigrin from surrounding areas. Its a beautiful valley and I particularly like the top end after the reservoirs where it is just wild wild moorland - hope the weather is good and shows it all off to its best! At the start of the valley keep your eyes and ears open for displaying peregrine - esp in the cliff area to the right of the first ressy. Enjoy - wish I was going!

theres also a nice set of waterfalls (the name of which escapes me) on the other side of the valley.

Thanks for your posts, folks. We had a Grand Day Out...the Red Kites were stunning, the Elan Valley was gorgeous (and yes, we saw a peregrine over the cliffs!), and the weather was superb.
