| | | Re: The Goldcrest and the grated cheese! Lovely shot you lucky so and so. We have them all around us but, as yet, they have never ventured into the garden. I will need to try the cheese but with my luck will only attract some mice.

| | | Re: The Goldcrest and the grated cheese! Our three bantams love best matured cheddar above anything else. You only have to wave the grater and they come running!

| | | Re: The Goldcrest and the grated cheese! I wondered if I heard goldcrests just now, if I do find they are back in the area, I'm going to try the cheese, thanks for the tip, BT

| | | Re: The Goldcrest and the grated cheese! I've tried various things, including hiding fat balls in the conifers (the Starlings still find them!) and smearing a homemade lard concoction on to the branches. I know they are around, but I rarely see them. I'm sure I've some stale cheese somewhere...... |

We've had them in the garden but never on the feeders,I'll certainly try the cheese trick next time we have any leftovers. |

| | | Re: The Goldcrest and the grated cheese! Lovely photo, I've managed to get one photo of the visiting goldcrest here, but nowhere as clear as yours. I'm also going to try the cheese approach now! |

| | | Re: The Goldcrest and the grated cheese! Thanks for all your comments buddy Bears!
Theys arn't fussy over mild or mature either bacause i tried them with mature but i kept eating it before they got a look!!!
I was mixing it with coleslaw and slapping it on a baked potato!!!
I bought mild chedder which i can't stand and they are just as enthusiastic about it so thats a plus! and i get to stop scoffing cheese which is bad for the diet!!
I have two YEW and three CYPRESS trees and a fairly small city garden so it can be done! |
