| | | Mystery bird? Hi everyone, well it`s a mystery to me anyway
I was waiting to photo a GSW when I saw this fellow & snapped him. It was taken in local park yesterday. Lots of long tailed tits & goldfinches around. Warblers aren`t here yet, maybe a blackcap? Any help appreciated. Sorry for photo quality. Thanks for your time.

| | | Re: Mystery bird? I agree with Squishy, the angle makes it hard but, I do agree with blackcap being the one I'd go for. |

| | | Re: Mystery bird? Sexing will be a tad difficult without seeing the colour cap at least. You certainly got nice and close Pam!!
Squishmeister: I agree, it forces you to look at other things when the actual regular keys are partly obscured, such as time of year, habitat, size etc.

| | | Re: Mystery bird? It is a challenge this one - possibly lesser whitethroat - the chest seems to be pretty much all the same shade, taking sun/shadow into account and their doesnt appear to be a strong black cap, so thats my guess rather than blackcap.
any other pics?
Cheers

It was just a quick thought rather than blackcap, which doesnt look right!
