H Owling Success in Poll position

Was planning another outing to get an actual picture of the Snow Buntings at Ainsdale but fortunately the trains were cancelled otherwise i would have missed out on another two firsts for me, first a couple of Little Owls and my first half decent pic especially as they were digiscoped





followed by my first view of a Redpoll (as far as i know)





going back tomorrow to see if i can improve on them, nice view of a peregrine too but didn't manage to see the Bramblings but you would think you have a chance seeing as they netted eight there recently so fingers crossed

well done, wish I could see some owls! it's one of the birds on my 'wish list' to photograph.

how are you using your digiscope? I'm just trying to have a bash at it and have set it up using my compact but not sure if i should try my DSLR on it? unfortunately the compact i have doesn't allow for a shutter release

i am using the proper kit with all the attachments and cable release, it came with a remote control but i haven't tried that yet. You should be able to get a cable release to work on most compact cameras as it just screws into the bottom of the camera
