| | | Eagles? Hi all, this is my first post here.
Took the attached photo this morning from Gairloch (Grid ref 805756). It was a blustery day and I did not get a good look at the birds when I took the photo. I thought they were buzzards at the time, but having had a look at the photo, I am not so sure. I know it is so easy to convince yourself that you have seen an eagle, so I'd appreciate an objective view.
TIA |

maybe a golden or white-tailed eagle? (this is just speculation)

| | | Re: Eagles? I'd be inclined to say eagles, as squishy said the wing shape seems a bit wrong for buzzards. Nice one (if they are confirmed) and welcome to WAB!

| | | Re: Eagles? They are definitely eagles and I reckon White Tailed Sea Eagles, on account of wing and tail shape. They can be seen fairly often over Gairloch. At least they could when I was last there. There are Goldies in the area too, but further inland, near Loch Maree is best for them
Regards, Chris

Welcome to WAB btw. |

| | | Re: Eagles? Looks like an Eagle to me, long wings which narrow at the base, leading and trailing primary roughly the same length (leading primary would be shorter in Buzzard) But the wedge shaped tail suggests White-tailed Eagle Haliaeetus albicilla rather than Golden Eagle.

| | | Re: Eagles? If you click on the photo to make it bigger, you can just make out white on the tail - I opt for white-tailed eagles as well.
