| | | Re: Eagles? I'll say White-Tailed Eagles too. The wingspan look bigger than a buzzard in relation to the body.
Also as Dae says you can just make out the white tail... Its the kind of view I always get when ever I see them - never any closer. |

When I looked at the photo I thought they could be white tails, but did not want to get carried away with the idea. Buzzards are seen almost daily around here and there is a pair of golden eagles nesting not far away, so there is plenty of opportunity for mistaken identification. Though sea eagles are also alledgedly making an impact. BBC NEWS | UK | Sea eagles blamed for lamb deaths |

| | | Re: Eagles? Hi Tringa
I would go for White tailed eagles for a number of reasons.
The Wings are more rectangular than a Buzzard and are proportianally bigger compared with their body, this makes them an Eagle.
The tail in the picture is partially closed but if you look at where it starts, the tail feathers almost touch the rear edge of wing. When you see WTE and GE in the wild the most noticable difference is that on a WTE there is almost no body between the tail and wing. With a GE there is a noticable body (like the Buzzard) between wing and tail.
In the picture the head and neck looks long but I think it is probably just scanning for prey.
Well done
Roy

Buzzards wings are far more rounded and when soaring held slightly forward. |
