| | | Yep, we went out again Hi all
Didn't have enough time to visit Riverside Country Park this morning so we took the dog and our camera's to our local field/dump [there are car's and motorbikes upside down in the bushes ].
We aimlessly walked around for an hour or so disappointed at the lack of wildlife or thing's to photograph, taking pic's of bird shaped silhouettes that would never be identified other than black objects somewhere between us and the sun. Despondent, feeling like giving up, then Connor spotted the Kestrel fly past and we know where that heads for .
Rushing off in the general direction then slowing eventually standing frozen, we spotted it in the tree's just in front of us. Connor moved round one way and I the other, sun behind us and "click" we got our best Kestrel pic's up to date.
All happy and heading back the bird's decided to start singing and giving their locations away, my personnel best Robin pic
We also have a spot the bird and identify please for you guy's
I caught [on camera] one of the puffiest pidgeons I've seen in a while
And we photgraphed quite a rare caterpillar that I've posted on the other forum.
What started out to be an uneventfull walk about had us heading home with smiles on our faces and the sun came out, what more could you want |

Thanks for the write-up, sounds like the kestral was your saviour!!
Wasteground is often great for wildlife IMO. Not just birds but invertebrates, too. Do you look for inverts on these walks, or are you more birders? |

| | | Re: Yep, we went out again Great pics, well done! What an eventful walk you had! Just goes to show that you never know what you are going to see when out walking! That is what makes birding and nature watching in general so enjoyable! Keep up the reports, they are a pleasure to read!
I must admit it took me awhile to find the Wren but I got it in the end! A great 'spot the bird' pic! |

Off out again this morning back to Riverside country park, not that far away and always plenty to see.
Cheers everyone

| | | Re: Yep, we went out again sounds like your day was like mine up until the kestrel!!! the best I could lay claim to was a Robin, and he seemed to haunt me and that was at a country park where I expected to see plenty............ bar humbug! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
