| | | Raptor Quizz Ok Jason, PMG et al - carry on guessing! Tobermory, I haven't cut and pasted your answers onto this thread but you might want to. It really was a good effort!
For the sake of any others joining in, it's been established that the outlines don't included the following:
Red Kite
Lammergeier
Palid Harrier
WT Eagle
RL Buzzard
PMG I forgot to mention, the designer of the original competition later discounted no. 12, as that's a duplicate of another species in the images. So out of 21!! (all will be revealed in due course, including original details and the author of the competition who's a reputable bird guide)
Ps. A tip might be to download the image onto your computors and look at enlarged versions - I found this made it a bit easier.

| | | Re: Raptor Quizz I will post my answers later - I've changed my mind on a couple of them. The weather is too good to be sitting at the computer - I need to get out and see some wildlife. |

| | | Re: Raptor Quizz OK I've had a good walk around the local woods and now feel ready to have a 2nd attempt. I don't want to make any rash predictions but I hope I've got about a dozen right - after that its all guesswork and process of elimination.
1. Egyptian Vulture
2. Honey Buzzard
3. Short-toed Eagle
4. Black Vulture
5. Eleonora's Falcon
6. Marsh Harrier
7. Hen Harrier
8. Booted Eagle
9. Lesser Kestrel
10. Sparrowhawk
11. Montagues Harrier
12. APPARENTLY VOID - I thought it was a Golden Eagle
13. Kestrel
14. Goshawk
15. Osprey
16. Black Kite
17. Peregrine
18. Hobby
19. Griffon Vulture
20. Imperial Eagle
21. Merlin
22. Common Buzzard |

| | | Re: Raptor Quizz Oops just realised the author is still running this competition on his website, so I'd better not post all the answers but there were some very good guesses. I can say that Tobermory had the most answers correct though. Free Birding Downloads - Birding in Spain.com - Discover Spain Wild Treasures
If you want to know how you did or just want a list of answers then email : steve'at'BirdingInSpain.com
There's also another one on there if you can find it (and those answers have now been posted on the website ... I only entered the second competition. By the way, it is all for fun and there were no prizes! Not even a holiday in Spain! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
