| | | Arrival of Swallows/Martins/Swifts After a couple of lovely Spring type days it got me wondering/guessing when do people think that the first Swallows, Martins or Swifts will arrive. I know the swifts are last to arrive but i did see a Sand Martin in early March last year. Anyone ever see them arrive back before the month of Feb was over? |

| | | Re: Arrival of Swallows/Martins/Swifts It's usually March/April or even May depending on species and weather.
Sand Martins are normally first followed by House Martins,Swallows then Swifts.
It'll be lovely to see and hear them again.....we've had the House Martins nest under the eaves for the last 4 years so i'm looking forward to welcoming them back for a 5th!! |

| | | Re: Arrival of Swallows/Martins/Swifts Usually March for sand martins, early April for swallows and house martins and May for swifts (which are usually all gone Aug!) Latest swallow I ever saw was at Walton-on-Naze (Essex) in November (1980's) Happy times, roll on the spring!! |
