| | | poor bird, ID needed I was woken up the other day by a loud bang on my bedroom window. I jumped up to look and saw a few feathers stuck to the window. I ran down to the garden and found this bird dead. I have never seen one of these before although I know it's from the thrush family.
The local fox took the bird in the night.
I hope the photos are ok posted like this cos they wont upload from my computer |

An unfortunate victim of window strike it would seem.
How long had it been between the impact and then photographing him, and then when you think the fox had him? |

| | | Re: poor bird, ID needed It was a few minutes between impact and photography. I didn't bury the body as I thought it would be better if our vixen took it for eating.
I had an inkling it could be a fieldfare but I've never seen them before. Beautiful bird. I have put black shapes on the outside of the windows to prevent further tragedies |

| | | Re: poor bird, ID needed Hmm... you, actually saw the fox take it? I assume all this happened late in the evening, including the discovery of the bird?
Good idea RE stickers, too
