Saw this around a marshy area and can't find it in the books. Note the long beak and the legs, definatly not a red shank
I would be very grateful if you could identify it for me,

| | | Re: Whats this bird? Could be, but we got pictures of green shanks at the same place and there were alot of differences in colour. This one is more of a sea gull colour.

| | | Re: Whats this bird? Agreed with ruth, the 2nd photo is a grey plover. I can't tell for sure on the 1st from that angle. Seems like it has an awful long bill for a greenshank, but I've never seen one so can't be sure. |
