| | | Re: visit to the peak district did indeed visit fairholmes!! but no nuthatch sitings i'm afraid . was there twice as a course visit and was well impressed!! over a million visitors a year!! wow!!!. this was my first visit to the peak district but i'll be back as a "civillian" then i can take it in better. in fact there is another course in a couple of months maybe i can get on that!!! it'll be lighter at nights then i'll have more time to look around . the course was good too learned a lot!! i came up with the idea to have walks/cycle trails available as a download onto a gps handheld unit ,from the fairholme website ,so when you get there you already have directions!! so some feed back would be good on that please!!!.....thanks once again ,everyone for the info!!!

| | | Re: visit to the peak district you could always try rivelin valley on the outskirts of sheffield on the A57 about 30mins from castleton. last time i was in the wood just about every other bird was a nut hatch.got the woodpeckers too plus kingfishers,dippers spotted woodpeckers tawnys sprawks plus all the usual garden varieties
