| | | Lesser,Greater and now Green! I was lucky enough to see a Green Woodpecker while out yesterday so have now seen all 3 British species in the first 7 weeks of the year......I'm well chuffed! |

Julian | The Lesser was at Marbury Country park and the Greater and Green at Neumanns Flash (the adjoining nature reserve).

| | | Re: Lesser,Greater and now Green! I'm also jealous of the lessor, oddly enough greens are by far the most common round here. I have never seen a lessor but I probably see a greeny every time I go out, saw two today at my local cemetery.

Haven't seen either of the spotteds yet. We'll definitely get the great spotted in our garden in the spring and summer and I know there are lesser spotteds at Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve so fingers crossed I may get to see one of them too.
All three before the end of Feb is going some Ruth!

Mick | I envy you both, I have never seen a Lesser or a Green Woodpecker  but last year a friend phoned me and said she keeps seeing this green coloured bird and I ID'd it from her description as a Green Woodpecker! |
