Yellowhammers anyone?

I was watching the birds on my feeders the other day, checked my records and wrote a list of all the birds I'd seen in my garden over the last year. I think it came to around 36!

One thing is missing - I haven't seen yellowhammers since childhood. Anyone else got them?

We have Yellowhammers, though not in abundance in the garden. We have the odd pair that flit around the garden on sunny days. Though if I travel to the nearest heath with Gorse and Broom, I see endless amounts of them

I usually see them in or from the back garden two or three times a year (and quite often see them when I go walking). However, from 2-6 Yellowhammers have been visiting the garden frequently for about 7-8 days now - the current bad weather is obviously responsible.

Yes we've got them in the countryside around our village.....in fact it was only on Sunday that we saw quite a few of them in the hedgerows while we were out walking!
