| | | Caught in the act.... Last week, I saw something unusual when I opened my bedroom curtains first thing, although it wasn't the first time I'd seen it.
A destructive pheasant was sat on my neighbours bird table, ripping the roof to bits! I managed to get a couple of quick piccie's of it for evidence, coz my neighbour was convinced she had rats climbing up it and pulling bits off it for nesting!! She wouldn't believe me when I told her I had seen a Pheasant on her table, with a beak full of roof material!
After he'd finished with the table, he then decided to explore my garden and have a go at my alpines! I only planted them in the Summer last year!
Until he got hold of it, the Sempervivum (house leek) was doing really well but now most of the rosettes have been pecked off!
I wish the bloomin' pheasant would peck off now too!

I would love to have Pheasants in the garden, an unusual site but a welcome one

We have semi regular visits by around 4 pheasants in our back garden possibly our favourite visitors, Its fully enclosed by a 5 foot fence and never thought they would come in there, got the shock of my life the first time one sped out of a bush and then flew very close over my head to get out
Only damage i ever saw one do was when he crash landed in my wifes patch of tulips one day she was |

Well its not sport when something that big can hardly get off the ground then some toff with a gun shoots them..You would think they would choose something a bit more challenging to shoot at..
like other toffs..
My dog always flushes them from the hedge they really are a soft target..The toffs I mean.. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
