Local patch pictures

Here's one of mine, known as East Hyde. That's the River Lea on the left, just in Bedfordshire, and the stream on the right is in Hertfordshire. Usually good for Little Egret, Green Sandpiper, Snipe, Kingfisher and Stonechat, though sadly none were present yesterday. The occasional scarce bird drops in too.



There are also a few other local residents...

Hi Robin,

I know East Hyde, as it's not too far from where I live. I've not been birding there, but have walked through it a couple of times. Might check it out sometime, as it's a while since I've seen an Egret (and I've never seen one in my native county of Bedfordshire). A couple of years ago I saw a Red Kite there, not by the river but along a lane going north from the village.
