| | Help Identifiying Hi all,
I found this while going through some old photo's which were taken of Finches.
However i just realised this is not a finch!
Can anyone tell me what this may be?
Thanks in advance

| | | Re: Help Identifiying your right. its not a finch at all. its a warbler which are notoriously difficult. do you have any other photos. its easier to identify warblers with a shot of the legs. |

| | | Re: Help Identifiying Certainly not a Finch as the beak is wrong shape. I'm going to say a Willow Warbler or a Chiffchaff but I aren't very sure at all.

| | | Re: Help Identifiying KeenTeen17, I shall have a look to see if there are any more.
Unfortuantly this was shot into the sun, so had to use CS4 to bring out as much detail as possible.
Will see what i can do though.
Thanks. |

| | | Re: Help Identifiying It's a Willow Warbler or Chiffchaff, I suspect Willow Warbler going on head shape and with such a strong eye stripe and pale underbelly, but don't think you'll get closer than that with this image! |

| | | Re: Help Identifiying I have only this one image!
I too have cropped, and also tried to bring out a bit more of the head detail..
Starting to think along the lines of willow warbler? |

| | | Re: Help Identifiying As I said, WW is most likely going on head pattern and general colours but you won't get a 100% on this image especially with the heavy editing and low resolution. WW can look very much like Chiffchaff with lots of overlapping features and sometimes the primary projection is the only reliable feature which doesn't show in this image. |

| | | Re: Help Identifiying I did notice on a very close zoom, that it does seem to lake to eye rings of the Chifchaf.
But yes your right, going to be difficult to say for certain without a better image.
Oh Well, I will say WW had no one can prove otherwise.
Thanks for your imput.
