Nest Box help wanted

I ahve always been lucky and have had lots of different birds nesting in our garden. However this christmas we have put up a camera box (32mm hole). Already a Blue Tit has been a regular visitor and it looks as though it is making its self comfortable. It lays on the floor with wings out stretched and wriggles as though to create a depression. I appreciate it is very early to be making a nest but when do they start building a nest? If I leave a supply of nest making materials will this encourage usage? Is there anyhthing else I can do to improve my chances of usage this year?

Blue tits start nest-building in April, but your resident birds will probably be investigating potential nest sites now, and may also be roosting in them.

If you have pets you regularly groom, keep the fur and put it out in a net bag of some sort, from late March onwards, to provide nest material for Blue tits and other species.
