| | | a morning at Pennington Out for an hour or two at our local Pennington Flash this morning. Saw lots of birds including this Reed Bunting and a Brambling.
Met a fantastic birder. A mine of information. Its amazing how a camera and a few birds infront can make perfect strangers chat like old friends, part of what I love about wildlife watching.
Not brilliant shots, the light was a bit grim, surprise!!
Although we saw the otherside too whilst holidaying in Cornwall and The scillies last year! Quite a few 'extremists', very rude and ignorant!!
Anyways, happy birding.

| | | Re: a morning at Pennington Hi Pauline!
Thought you worked there but wasn't sure! Will keep my eye out for you in future. So if you see anyone looking like a wild man grinning madly walking towards you don't worry, it's me!!! lol. We tried a few of the other hides but not really anything close enough to photograph well.
Think the guys name was John. He told me about the Tern article he did for the Manchester Birding site. He actually predicted when and where the Brambling would come in!
Thanks for the comments everyone.
kind regards.

Heh! heh! I'll try and remember that then! No-one grinning at me this aft - I was run off my feet - the weather bucked up (yet again as it keeps doing while I'm at work ......... Grrr.......) the park was still busy when I had to lock up at 4.30pm (our bosses say that is closing time at the moment - normally we would have moved back to 5pm by now) so a chappie rushing to the loo wasn't pleased when he found I had just locked and alarmed and was getting in my car - well - we have to leave and go home and I was already ten mins late ........... so I wasn't popular

| | | Re: a morning at Pennington Excellent photos (the Reed Bunting is a male coming into it's breeding plumage hence the rather jaded appearance!)
I'll remember when I get to visit Pennington Pauline, there's a lady there who's real mean with the Loo key! (too far to visit at the mo' unfortunately as I don't have transport - hmm, thinking about it, I could come on public transport and buy a new portaloo instead ) | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
