The Muskateers

I had a lovely moment yesterday.

We hand rear loads of tinies each year. Last year, we had three little things in together from a destroyed nest and the next day, another one. All they were was beaks really so it was hard to tell what they were.

They turned out to be three chaffinches and a greenfinch and we called them the Muskateers and d'Artangon.

They were all reared and released successfully and have taken up residence in the garden. The chaffs shout to me regularly but I haven't seen d'Artangon for ages.

I was having a quiet moment in the garden yesterday and heard a load of shouting in the tree above me....there they were all four of them, fat and chirpy!

We certainly had a busy year last year...we had over two hundred through the door,it was a good year too most were released too, the majority still living here in the garden.

It is lovely, quite often when I go outside they come and land on me, makes it all worthwhile I'll tell you
