| | | Help on two items please Hi, first posting of the year, and almost a year since I started Bird watching.
Highlights for me, was seeing a Whitethroat, Spoonbill and Little Egret for the first time.
I need help, advice on two items please.
1. How do you file or name your Bird photos, ie The place, date and name of Bird?? or just Place + Date? (These will be stored on my PC.)
2. End of Feb I be staying in North Devon, is there any good Nature Reserves to visit. I be on the edge of Exmoor, so I be there and I need a few places to visit. Any help be great.
I know I can rely on you to help me, as you did last year in ID a few Birds for me.
Thanks
Garry

| | | Re: Help on two items please Thanks for the tips on naming my photos. Ones I have taken, I just put them under the bird name. I will change this over the weeks to place and then the bird name.
Thanks |

| | | Re: Help on two items please The way I organise my photos are first I have a folder for month, in that folder I have other folders named by location and date. The photographs all have keywords assigned to them. All these are kept on an external hard drive. On my computer I have folders for birds, butterflies, ect. and in each of those folders I have folders for different species, one for Blackbird, Wren ect. so I have all photographs of one species together. Sound complicated but it's not really and if I want a photograph of a Red Admiral butterfly I can see all of them in one folder.

| | | Re: Help on two items please I do it the other way round.
File by common name and scientific name (a la WAB) and name file with place
and date ..............
Its consistency tht really matters - and I hae lots of birds still in my
