| | | Opinions saught Took this picture a couple of days ago and can't make my mind up about the BOP among this flock of Rooks, I think it's a female Sparrow hawk but would like it to be a Goshawk, the opinions of the experts would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.
Bird in the flock
A blow up of the bird in question

| | | Re: Opinions saught A female Sparrowhawk for me. Goshawks can approach Buzzard size, though like most Accipiters the males are smaller; though the proportions here look more Sparrowhawk like. |

| | | Re: Opinions saught Tough one but I think female sparrowhawk judging by size and if it manages to eat corvids, a well fed one.
Were you in goshawk territory?

| | | Re: Opinions saught I have to go with female Sparrowhawk as well, due to structure and size. Also the black tail band looks thinner than I would expect on a Goshawk.

Thanks to you all for confirming my original ID, I hate the lot of you
The answer to your question Wildwoman is a very loose yes, but I would prefer not to be too specific on the location of raptors for obvious reasons.
