| | | Waterrail out in the cold I think I was lucky yesterday - I've always wanted to see a Waterrail, but never had the chance. At our local nature park, the lake was frozen solid, so I was scattering the duck/swan food I took up there, on the ice near to the reeds.
30 seconds later, and this little guy pops out to feed.
I guess being hungry makes them show themselves much more readily this time of year.
