| | | Re: Egrets in North West? Yesterday there was one at Pennington Flash Leigh near Wigan! A couple of days previous to that there were two Little Egrets feeding merrily in front of the hides! If memory serves me (and usually it doesn't!) we last had them in 2004 roosting on the far side of the flash in full view (albeit across the water and needing a good pair of binocs) of Horrocks Hide!

| | | Re: Egrets in North West? I see Little Egrets regularly now in south Essex.
Please see here for a very interesting account of the expansion in their range both nationally and locally.

They've also been spotted here in Sheffield/Doncaster... but not that many. Don't blame them really...
Cheers
Chris | Sorry, only just had a look at the site. Very informative though. Thanks.
I'll have to join the RSPB so I can get into Inner Marsh Farm. Had a browse and it looks beautiful there.

| | | Re: Egrets in North West? Have the Egrets started breeding in this country? I know some have said that they have seen some broods but are these just isolated cases? Havn't spotted any in Wirral.
