Spring in the air?

Judging by the antics of our garden visiting Pheasants it seems that despite the current cold snap Spring is very much in the air, at least in the eyes of 2 of our 3 visiting males who've been following our 4 resident females around 'strutting their stuff' and displaying. Here's a couple of photos - the first showing one of the males playing peek-a-boo on one of my feeding stations and the 2nd showing a female taking refuge from the male's advances -

Interesting, Jeff. We get up to three male and up to nine female pheasants visit our garden, I'll keep an eye out to see if they start to get amorous.

No spring in our air today, Jeff - it's snowed overnight and looks decidedly wintery out there.

The guy a few doors away's cockerel things things are changing, big crowing session in the morning.

My little japanese cockerel started this am about 5.30 that should cheer up a a bloke who lives near me reckons he heres it all the time lol

Stunning pics Jeff,especially the 2nd capture!

I noticed a Snowdrop emerging yesterday but it's since been covered with snow.......I'm sure the Pheasants and Spring bulbs know that Spring is just around the corner though!

Nice one Jeff. Even around London it has been very cold; down to -6 at Heathrow Sat night, yet I've seen Goosander, Teal + Mandarins getting frisky in recent days + a Robin collecting nest material on New Year's Day!

Yes, having said there wasn't much going on in our garden I've noticed in the last couple of days that the male collared doves are starting to annoy the females with their intentions.
