i didnt think it was a kestral because it wasnt blueish.

If it has a black band at the end of the tail it is likely to be a kestrel. | It's not necessary to see the tail - mantle pattern ie. dark arrowheads on a deep rusty red background is diagnostic and pattern here indicates an adult female/or youngster - it appears to be quite heavily barred and there looks to be some pale fringing on the scaps, which is why I suggested a youngish bird, but either way, Kestrel it is |
