| | | How did it fair afterwards? We get quite a few each year from the starlings that raid the tree for berries at the front of the house. Luckily, every one of them has just landed on the floor, spent a couple of minutes getting over the shock and then flown off.
We've tried putting things in the window, including the dog, but nothing seems to work.

| | | We get a few from time to time, the birds normally make a good recovery if given time to rest in safety, we usually place them in a ventilated cardboard box for an hour or so, this seems to do the trick & they fly off none-the worse for their experience!
On the other hand, about 6 months ago I was sitting in our front room watching the tv when a wood pigeon hit the glass in the patio doors at full speed, I'm affraid the pigeon died & I nearly hit the ceiling in shock, what a bang, how it didn't break the glass I will never know!!

| | | Oh wow, that must have been one hell of a collsion. Those birds are huge!
One way of reducing window strikes is to make sure the birdfeeders aren't positioned close to the windows. |

| | Helen, you have no idea just how loud the bang was, a brick hitting the window couldn't have made more noise!
The feeders & table are a good 10 metres from the house so the only conclusion I could come to was that it had been panicked by the Sparrowhawk that makes regular hunting sorties through our garden, either that or it was trying to "ram-raid" the house |

| | We've had quite a few dragonflies hit the windows during the past couple of months. You think with such incredibly huge and complicated eyes, they could at least see a pane of glass
