| | | Re: Birds Seen From Public Transport I like this idea, I think I'll compile a list of my own to while away those journeys (no bins though - I'm LOL just imagining the looks I'd get ).
Mind you, at 6 am in he morning, you can see bally all at this time of year!

| | | Re: Birds Seen From Public Transport I particularly like the two plane observations!
It made me think about what I've seen from public transport. Probably the single most productive journey has been the ferry to Islay, which is really nice as it whets the appetite for what is to be found on the island itself (see the recent trip report).
Small birds I've always found difficult: unless on a bus which stops outside a house with a feeder.
My two best sightings are both non-British: my only Lammergeier (from a Swiss Post bus), and a pair of Golden Eagles (from a coach in the Italian Alps this year). Even with their help I'd never get close to 117! |

| | | Re: Birds Seen From Public Transport Well kite, I did buy a monocular. Partly because my eyesight needs a helping hand sometimes, and partly for discrete wildlife viewing. Getting a pair of binoculars out whilst sitting on a London bus is a bit braver than I can manage at the moment.
