In with the Barnacles, was this fellow
Sorry for the poor digiscoped shots. Any suggestions as to its pedigree please?
I missed the cranes at Stubbs Mill despite standing for ages in the freezing cold rain, but incredible numbers of marsh and hen harriers there. |

| | | Re: Goose for ID looks very similar to a goose I saw amongst a feral barnacle flock near Lydd which I think was thought to be a hybrid with possibly some emperoro and or snow goose in the mix |

| | | Re: Goose for ID Barnacle Goose: The one with the B&W face. Not sure about the white faced one, and its plumage looks different to the rest. Maybe it's a hybrid?
Was that a lapwing in the background?
Hope that helps. |

| | | Re: Goose for ID Dangerous ground for me as I don't know loads about birds but I thought the bill look too short to be a snow goose.
Just a thought, no doubt I'm way off. |

| | | Re: Goose for ID Don't think you are way off....the bill does look short from the angle of these shots.
I said 'Snow Goose type' as there have been reports of Ross's Goose hybrids and that would account for a smaller bill........but that said, the bird does look more robust than the accompanying Barnacles. |
