| | | Re: Gull I.D. Quiz pt.III ? ok, dark legs rule out black headed. Less extensive black mask seems to rule out Franklin's.
I'm going for 1st winter med gull (I think) though its difficult to tell from the shot how white the underwings are (or aren't).
I think i can see a dark bar on the tail which rules out adult laughing the underwings seem too pale for a 1st winter though I'm uncertain about 2nd winter and the wing tips do seem quite dark.......
Oooh I'm torn
OK 1st winter med or 2nd winter laughing
and I may well be wrong on both!! |
