| | | I.D. help-Pipit? and unknown Can some kind soul I.D.these birds for me.The first one may be a pipit but not sure which one.It was sitting at the top of a tree.
Second photo are a group of birds sitting in shrubs on farmland next to the marshes.There were approx: 20 of them

Actually, tree pipit is more than highly unlikely at this time of year... it's extremely unlikely indeed. |

There certainly were a number of them corn buntings flying between shrubbery,I counted 20 but there could have been a lot more

1) Meadow Pipit - definate
2) Linnets - Probably but it's a tough call !
I've only ever positively identified one Corn Bunting in my life when one obligingly sat on a fence post while set up my spotting scope.
So easy to confuse with several other species under field conditions. |

Will have to see if they are still around this weekend,when I next go to where I saw them.If they are will take closer notice of their flight and calls...thanks for the help,at least I know what they may be!
