| | | Heron on my Bus Flight Path! lol
Had a wonderful experience yesterday
I'd been in to Solihull to maplins to get some gadget thingy for the PC and was travelling on the number 57 along a fairly busy Road when as i was looking out of the window i saw a GREY HERON flying towards the AIRPORT.
What a MAJESTIC SITE nobody else seemed to notice only me and i wanted to bounce round the bus and tell everybody but then again i though just CALM DOWN CALM DOWN :
I just love the way they look as if they flying in slow motion which those huge wings and the long legs dangling behind like some PREHISTORIC bird
We do have a few quite large bodies of water down that way and i'm sure it was on route there
I have seen them FLYING OVER THE GARDEN as next door but three have a large fish pond |

I was once in a school playground waiting for my son and saw a Waxwing in a tree in the playground.........I was bursting to tell someone as no-one even glanced despite it being right over our heads! |

I used to work in an office in Birmingham City centre and directly opposite my window was the BT tower
It was the PEREGRINE FALCONS nesting there that got me started on wildlife watching |

| | | Re: Heron on my Bus Flight Path! I often see one on the way too or from work just standing very still, in the field near the river. They can stand like that for hours just waiting for their next meal.
I have never seen one flying though, that would be magic and i would be bouncing round too. |

| | | Re: Heron on my Bus Flight Path! Sometimes I have to bus to work which is a journey that lasts over an hour. It's dull now because of the dark nights but in the summer is was brilliant. I can relate to the excitement as I nearly gave myself whiplash as I span round at my first Little Owl sighting. All I wanted to do was say 'did you see that... did you... did you', however no one had their nose pressed up against the window like I did so I sat back down again. That 'Crazy Bird Lady' feeling wore off quick as by the end of the summer I was sat there with notebook, pen and bird book. To interested to care what people thought. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
