I'm quite use to seeing the pair of Australian Black Swans on the reservoir but never seen them in flight until today. Never knew that they had white on their wings.  |

Was the Mute Swan seeing off the Black Swan or are they a mixed pair flying off together? Unusual photo anyway! |

Yes tWITCH, It's quite a suprise when you first see it. I like the photo, and now you will always be looking for that white whenever you see them.

There is a black swan at Hanningfield Res. but I have never seen it in flight, will be looking out for that now! Interesting pics  |

i used to see one at hampton lake.
haven't seen it for a few years though.

I've never seen them with white on their wings.....maybe that one is a X breed?? as they do sometimes pair with Mute Swans.

Nice action pic twitch! | Presumably you haven't seen them in flight then, as all Black Swans have white primaries- but are only really evident when flying, so this bird in the photo is a pure Black Swan + not a hybrid. You're right they do occasionally pair up, though I don't recall seeing any progeny. |
