Where have all me birds gone?

I have a mixture of feeding facilities in my garden, seed dispenser, fat square holder, etc.. In the summer it used to be very busy out there with Starling demolishing the fat square within a day, and sparrows chirping happily away.

Now it is all quiet outside and has been for a month. I haven't seen a Starling in that time. All I seem to get now is Jackdaws, Pigeons and a lone Goldfinch

Where have they gone and why?

Many are blaming the mild weather. The weekend's set to be chilly though

Mine come and go. Sometimes I get up and the garden's silent. They always come back.
This morning was a silent day. I wandered round the garden, and as I went indoors, noticed a very silent, beautifully concealed ginger cat sitting silently under a table in a corner.

This worry has come up a few times I know I am experiencing the same too food is not going like it usually does but as hedge witch points out cold friday onwards lets hope they come back

Thats what happens in our garden at times,one minute full of birds,next not a feather!!
There are one or two cats that like to sit under the hedges in the hope of a bird flying too close-but a loud "CATS" to the dog as he rushes down the garden sees them over the fence
What I find is I can put bird food out and stand indoors waiting for the"flock" to descend and nothing.Turn my back for 5 minutes,make a cuppa look out of the window and the food is gone!!!

Hello I really cant grumble we seem to have so many different birds in the garden, loads of goldies,greenfinches,chaffinches,long tailed tits,great tits blue tits, and the weather has not been that cold really,but its forecasted at the weekend. sheila

No starlings? ..... have mine My garden is swarming with them, the other birds have a hard time trying to get on the feeders because of them

We go through phases llike that and I wonder why. It's a bit like that here at the moment; we've currently got a dusting of feathers on our lawn so I think something's been nabbed so the birds are probably staying away

same things happened on our feeders I think its mainly the mild weather...Also my daughter has forgotten to fill them up
