Hey!!! so I did see someone famous then .....lol...glad the thought didn't cross my mind at the time could have been embarrassing (odd woman laughing while people feeding birds!)....wish I had taken a pic

Nice photo gess, much better than I've ever managed of this very colourful bird. I see Jays quite frequently in the countryside, but they seem very wary and always fly off before I can get a decent photo.

For the last couple of days there's been one visiting the back garden and feeding on the peanuts we put out (like the magpies and jackdaws, it's learnt that it can reach one peanut feeder from an adjacent branch). But I've only managed some very poor quality shots of it so far, at a distance and from behind double-glazing. I'm hoping it will turn up when I'm out photographing the birds from the summerhouse.

Thanks Keith, but as I said, lucky daughter spotted it! and same here at home, seen very rarely and quicker than I am to get camera ready!

I've never had one in the garden Pete and as above, same as Keith when I'm out and about locally they're far too quick to be off!!!
