Re. peanuts. In the part of the country where we live, there is actually a new taker for peanuts (in a feeder) - RINGNECKED PARAKEETS.
Also the more traditional Greater Spotted Woodpecker patronises the peanut feeder. Aswell as the Grey Squirrel!
Has anyone investigated the food miles aspect of wild bird food? Anyone know a good supplier of BRITISH grown sunflower hearts? There are ones that supply black sunflower seeds (e.g. Vine House Farm and WigglyWigglers) but what about just the hearts?
