| | | Re: An a to Z of birders Hi Colin, Thank you for doing that cos after the birder/dude/robin stroker discussion I was going to ask what other 'bird people' terms there are!
One question: what is a 'Life List'?
Another question: Are there any more terms (other than Robin Stroker) for people like me who (at the moment cos I've only just started!) just watch and feed and enjoy their garden birds? I won't be offended at all - I just think its really interesting! |

| | | Re: An a to Z of birders A Life list is a list of birds you have seen since you started birding. Mine is 398 & I do not twitch for birds just in a good county for birds.

| | | Re: An a to Z of birders 398, eh? What time scale are we talking here?
Well, I've just counted mine and it comes to an astounding 17 12 species in my garden and 5 out and about. Thats in about 3 and a bit months. Actually, I'm quite proud of it cos thats 17 birds I have learnt to recognise and learnt about. Before April I would have recognised exactly none and knew zilch.
Olly - when my starlings and sparrows arrive en masse I have sometimes worried about what the neighbours might think. I could be heading for an ASBO! |
