I'm nearly bouncing off the walls with excitement.
I'd already been celebrating seeing a lesser spotted woodpecker in my garden in May.
This weekend I spotted two green woodpeckers. Pretty sure they have a nest nearby.
Then this morning I realised the wrens had returned. they had been scared off earlier this year as there is major building work going on nearby. they are definitely back and fore to a nest. I can't see it but I can hear the babes.  |

Not surprised you're excited Tabbykitten  I would be too I have never seen a Woodpecker OR a Wren 'in real life'............. |

Fantastic. We get loads of greater spotted woodpeckers, but only seen the lesser one once. So much smaller than you imagine, aren't they? |

It was seeing the green woodpeckers that was the real thrill.
Unfortunately I don't have a camera or means of posting pics. sorry folks  |
