Hi, I was fishing on chesil beach, dorset last night approx 930pm and approx 200 (lots of approx) housemartins in groups of 20-30 were coming in from the sea and heading inland. i assume they werent late arrivals and had been out to sea feeding, is this right, any answers?
i tried to watch if they were circling around and it was the same group but they were flying in very distinct directions as groups over the sea and continuing inland. Also a handful or so of butterflies looked like red admirals in the twilight coming in too.
