I just pulled up on my drive and turned off the engine when two kestrels landed together on the power line to my house. I watched them for about 20 seconds - they were being quite vocal.
Suddenly one attacked the other and they fell into the garden and started brawling! I had to break it up. They both flew off, followed by a possible third kestrel.
What's that all about then? |

Interesting behaviour. Could it be over food or territory I wonder. I've only ever seen one Kestrel at a time so I've no idea if this is common .

This is not the normal mating time for Kestrels, and they often pair for life, so I think that rules out Hanky-Panky. |

Could be this years youngsters still hanging about thier parents territory i've noticed on my little patch that at one time there were 3 or 4 in the air at once for a short time then a couple of them were driven away
