I bought a few feeders for the garden back in the early summer and it was great. It took a few days for the birds to work out 'what was what' but we had a wonderful show. Loads of finches, tits and sparrows all using the feeders. In fact it was costing quite a bit to keep the feeders topped up.
Now there are few birds visiting and I understand that they probably getting food elsewhere but my problem is.......
with the feeders that I have, after a day or so, the food is wet ( with all the rain and dew about ) and I am constantly throwing it away and cleaning out the feeders.
Can anyone recommend better feeders, which don't allow the rain to penetrate the food? All feeders are out in the open and I did think about building some sort of shelter to cover them all, but is this the answer??
