I recently recieved a letter from the RSPB. They said to pass it on if I was not interested or unable so... that's what I'm doing!
They are looking for volunteers in Moray - ordinary people who love birds and are willing to share that enthusiasm with kids. For personal reasons I'm unable to promise/vouch that I'd be free to do this so I'm passing it on.
I'm going to type the letter here:
"Bird Friendly Schools is a new initiative, which has been piloted in England and southern Scotland for the past three years and is now coming to Moray and Aberdeenshire.
We are looking for volunteers of all ages who would be willing to visit one or two local primary schools three times in this academic year between November 2008 and June 2009.
You don't need any specialist bird knowledge or teaching qualifications, just an infectious enthusiasm and an abiliti to relate to children.
If this sounds like you, please read over and get in touch. If you are not interested, please consider passing this on ..."
If anyone is interested - let me know and I will send you the rest of the details and the email reply address ot phone number to contact.
note: they are paying travel expenses too.
second note: If this has already been posted here already -sorry and just ignore.
