| | | Supermarket sparrows I've heard them before but not seen them until today - a sparrow in Asdas visiting the veg section. Completely at home with the shoppers and at very close quarters. Very amusing and obviously finding a lovely habitat, out of the rain, nice supply of tit-bits and totally happy. Has anyone else got supermarket sparrows?

to next trolley hope Asda don't start seeing them as a pest. yes beautiful
plumage close up in a thread about facts blue at the base of bill for male
pink for female check it out next time

The shoppers were fine with it. A little female chirruping every now and then to it's mate that was somewhere about the store.
If they had to remove the ones in the news article, why on earth didn't they ask a ringing group to mist net them?
