More Bird Photographs Needed

This is a list of nearly six hundred birds in the UK, that will eventually all be added to the encyclopedia.

We don't currently have any photographs in the gallery for the birds with a * next to them, so if anyone has a photo of any of these birds, please could you add it to the gallery and let me know.

Coo! Aren't you the optimist?! Most of these aren't exactly your typical British birds and rather a lot have never bred.

Before everyone rushes off to try and photograph the local national rarity and its offspring, at or near its nest, do remember it could all end in

tears and/or prison

if you don't have a special licence from English Nature ...

Don't forget I have contributed quite a few that are on your list so one easy route to get a few linked is to look at my gallery.

That's the first one (No. 11) done, and it was a lot quicker than I thought it would be

I found it easiest to have two browser windows open. I quoted my original post in this thread and removed everything but No. 11's list, then resized the browser to a thin window on the side of my screen. I then opened a larger browser window on the other side of the screen and used it to run searches in the gallery, copying and pasting the URL of any images that I found.

We haven't got images for all the names with the * next to them - so there's still lots more to find out there

The pics needn't have been taken in the UK or in the wild, but obviously it would be great if they were.

You're right, and I'm certainly not saying that anyone should go out and try to photograph some of the protected species. We'll build a list at the end, and point out which ones can be can be photographed with/without a licence.

I have just uploaded two low quality photos of american Robin and American Wigeon. If you feel they are too bad for the gallery please delete them. I only put them there because they are not already in the gallery. I know you have a head image of what is possibly a female A Wigeon but I feel sure that this was taken at a collection.

Some of the links on the list aren't working Stu.

Seems to be the longer URL's where the link is truncated with ....s

Have a look at the links in section 10

Hi Stu

For some reason both Am Robin and Am Wigeon just open up to the home page and not a photo.
