Re: More Bird Photographs Needed

Hi.
I've only just joined so have no idea yet what is still "live" in the forums, but noticed in this thread Manx Shearwater photos were wanted? What type of photos? Are they wanted on water? On land? or in flight?
I have shots of all the above if wanted. Some of the in flight shots were taken at night so from what Ive been told are rare images?

Brian

Hi Brian and welcome to WAB.

As for your shots, all of the above! As we've got over 290 shots of Robins, I think we can allow any number of Manx Shearwater shots you've got.
I'll look forward to seeing them in the Gallery, plus any others you'd like to share with us, even more Robins if you wish!

Re: More Bird Photographs Needed

I forgot to mention that I have placed a couple of shots of a Spotted Sandpiper in the rare Bird gallery. That was one that was needed on the list.

Re: More Bird Photographs Needed

Noticed your request for some bird photos so I joined the group and hope to help out a little. I have a site of Birds of Victoria here in Canada that has some of the birds you requested. Birds of Victoria I have seperate photos of these if you want further pics. You have a great want list there.

Re: More Bird Photographs Needed

I recently returned from Cyprus where I saw a bird on a daily basis which I believed to be an Eleonoras Falcon. I have been trying to identify it since returning and am still not sure as to what it is. From a distance my initial thought was that it was a Kestrel, but slightly larger and colouration different. Also did not hover at any time. Have 3 photos but all of the front so you cannot see the colouration of the reverse which was a light brown/olive colour and not the rusty colour of a kestrel or the dark tail. The info I have read since my return indicates they leave the island by November and the photos were taken last week mid- December. Also, each time it flew by or landed in the trees it never seemed to frighten the sparrows and wagtails feeding nearby and the Eleonoras Falcon is supposed to feed on birds. I see you are looking for photos of an Eleonoras Falcon, what is your verdict???

Images do not appear to have loaded above so will add to the website.

Re: More Bird Photographs Needed

I have just added photos of the Greater White-fronted Goose, both Eurasian and Greenland.

Eurasian
http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/ga...age-25713.html

Greenland
http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/ga...age-25716.html
http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/ga...age-25715.html

They are not brilliant as they were all digiscoped distant shots. The Eurasian was taken in shocking light conditions and I am surprised it came out at all.

Re: More Bird Photographs Needed

I have added two more 1sts. White-billed Diver.
http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/ga...age-28702.html

Franklin's Gull.
http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/ga...age-28722.html

I have added a very, very poor image of a Gyr falcon taken in almost darkness at 06:10am. I have done it to add to a forum thread. I don't know if you want it in the gallery (as you haven't got one yet) or leave it where it is. Here is a link to it but I warn you on how bad it is.
