| | | Re: CA vs RSPB Good lord ! I saw a Country File report early in the year about the plight of Hen Harriers on the moors of Northern England. One of those interviewed (can't remember the name) from the shooting fraternity actually said on national TV that moorland is not the right place for Hen Harriers and that they should be relocated, er just WHO was there 1st Hen Harriers or shooting butts.

| | | Re: CA vs RSPB For the SCA to publicly state that figures should be based on cases which have resulted in prosecutions .. or "hard statistics" issued by the Government is clearly laughable ..
That's like saying .. let's base National burglary figures on the number of burglars who are actually prosecuted and let's just forget all the ones who get away with it .. It is a well established (and admitted) fact that the Crown Prosecution Service will only prosecute where there is in excess of an 80% chance of a conviction ..
And we all know just how much & how frequently Governments manipulate Crime statistics to suit their agenda on a given day ..
I personally don't have an axe to grind with the Field Sports lobby .. but I do think, in this particular instance the SCA is being somewhat disingenuous ..
Equally the RSPB aren't exactly "purer than Caesar's wife" either .. given their stance on Ruddy Ducks ..
Bye for now ..
Kev ..

| | | Re: CA vs RSPB It does sadden my heart when instances like this occur, these magnificient birds are only doing what comes naturally, feeding to stay alive, yet they end up getting perscicuted (I'm not saying anyone here will just in general)
Alot of landowners, game hunters, fowl farmers etc wont be satisfied until all Raptors are wiped out, sorry for the rant but it's becoming increasingly apparant that Raptors are being aggressively persecuted...
I realise the rspb aren't angels & have some undesriable policies, but they're fight on the side of raptors is a just one.. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
