Loch Garten Osprey Migration

Hi all

I watched the Osprey nest at Loch Garten and followed the chicks from egg to fledgling (3 eggs laid, chick one bullied chick 3 and it eventually died). The remaining two, Nethy (F)(chick one) and Deshar (M)(chick two) started their migration but sadly, after 107 hours of continuous flight, Deshar plunged into the North Atlantic. He started his journey across the channel but due to bad weather,winds and fog, he went badly off course.

But some good news is that Nethy is now in morocco and doing well. Next big test for her will be the Sahara.

Hi Christina,

I was up at Loch Garten earlier in the year and saw the three chicks. It was very sad when one of the young chicks died and I'm saddened further that Deshar didn't make it either. It's good to know that Nethy is now in Morocco, Hope she continues to do well. Thank you for the update!
