| | | Non British Birds Advice I've had a look around the site rules but can't seem to find the advice I need so I thought I'd ask here.
I know we shouldn't upload non-UK birds to the Gallery but do the same rules apply to the image archive?
I've just returned from Mauritius (my son got married there) and I thought I might share some of the images that I got of the local birds and wildlife. I don't want to break the rules though so I thought it best to ask first. |

| | | Re: Non British Birds Advice I don't have a clue but I would imagine that you could post it in the images section. A mod will let you know soon though

| | | Re: Non British Birds Advice I am pretty sure it is alright to put them in the image library for posting to the forum. Its for everything that you want to show in the forum. I have put grandchildren's photos there before and there are a few members like John who goes abroad and writes about what he has seen and we often see birds there that are not British
It is nice to be able to see waht other countries offer and not everyone stays on the other site so you could post them in the Gallery there and then post them in the forum here
The Image Library is used to store images that do not meet the Gallery guidelines, unidentified images, non-wildlife photographs etc. Images in the archive are not moderated and can be added to forum posts immediately after upload - copy and paste the 'Forum Code' under the image. |

| | | Re: Non British Birds Advice I do post images of birds seen broad but only of birds that can be seen in Britain and are on the BOURC list.
David (Hobjob) is right when he suggests our sister site plus Birdforum are the places to actually write about your experiences abroad as this forum is for what can be seen in Britain.

John | Whoops my fault I didn't mean to suggest putting them in the bird forum but the treehouse surely would be ok. I much prefer this site and like to be able to put images I have taken that are not allowed in the forum.I for one like to see other species too. Not that I ever go abroad and rarely leave Devon. But occasionally I go places where there are other species like collections in parks etc. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
